Etype Gallery
This is the Restoration Gallery
Clean, shiny, or simply rebuilt components, this is the greatest fun to be had when building a car - fitting all the new or restored components back to the car, and slowly over time, it begins to look like a car again. You will also see many of the parts that I nickel plated...
Nickel Plating
The brackets although shot blasted clean were not as good as I would have liked, however the modern replacements rust very quickly which is worse
Rear axle
All components refurbished or replaced and you can see my upgrade to the bleed nipples which brings them down from inside the cage to an accessible point
Windscreen washer
Original Bottle and mounting bracket but I replaced the motor with a modern one fitted inside the old housing. This is one of many modifications that no-one would notice
Fuel feed
Naturally all fuel and brake pipes were replaced, this is the connector that awaits a pipe up to the fuel bowl
A few Nickel plated items
Fuel bowl bracket, bonnet locks, throttle linkage, bulkhead plate etc. All plated at home and looking the part
5 speed Gearbox
A Guy Broad 5 speed gearbox with a slight modification to strengthen the gear select mechanism
Heater Control
I had to replace this with a new one but you can also see one of the bulkhead pipes. Getting the rubber hose onto those was interesting
Passenger Seat
Trimmed by Mike Turley – a genuine interior fitter who worked on Etype’s at the Factory! Lovely man

Centre Dash
All original but restored at home. Because this car has an alternator, I swapped out the Ammeter for a Volt Meter though
Centre Console
This is a modern FM radio that I modified to have the face panel of a 1960’s Motorola fascia. I am rather proud of this because its a 100w stereo with an aux input for iPods etc.
Overtaking mirror
Never a factory option but something of a necessity in modern traffic. These are wing mirrors for a classic Mini which I repurposed
Original Dashtop
This merely needed a lot of cleaning and nurturing back into life. *BUT* it is very brittle and I suspect the ancient plasticised covering may crack one day
Inside the bonnet
Inside the cavity of the bonnet is treated with anti rust protection (applied before painting)
Engine
The beautiful Classic Fabs 6 branch manifold looking rather awesome. I wonder how long the polishing will last.
Dipstick holder
Why? Because this is a subtle modification that looks cleaner and means oil doesn’t drip onto the exhaust…
